DENTAL LASER TREATMENT
If you experience pain in the TMJ you can benefit from the effects of laser therapy.
The temporomandibular joint (TMJ) connects your jaw to the side of your head .Pain is common to this area and it presents common signs and symptoms like:
- local pain
- stiffness / joint block
- pain or noise inside the ear
- cracking when the mouth opens wide
- an uncomfortable or inappropriate bite
- pain that radiates to the neck, shoulder and back area
- painful swelling
The laser device temporarily heats the targeted tissue and increases the blood flow to the muscles so that they can relax.
Dental laser treatment (laser therapy) is easy to apply –the procedure increases the temperature in the treated area and thus relieves temporary medium and light pain.
Laser therapy is fast – a standard procedure takes 10 minutes per treatment area and requires on average 2-6 sessions with an interval of 2-4 days, sometimes even fewer sessions are required for optimum results.
Laser pain therapy is safe – This procedure is a gentle maneuver that relaxes muscles and removes the pain.
